即棄衛生巾造成的環境污染日益受關注，例如生產過程中可能使用到被世衛列為污染物的化學物質，亦有研究物料的組織估計，棄置於堆填區的衛生巾，需要用大約500至800年才能完全分解。記者發現，在香港不少商戶及網店都嘗試引入可持續使用的女性衛生用品，例如布衛生巾及月經杯，但商家坦言產品未能普及，不少受訪女性對產品有保留。有環保人士認為，大部分香港女性只懂用即棄衛生巾，相信與有關生產商廣告宣傳，以及主流學校教育未有全面介紹不同的女性衛生用品有關，建議學校要加強教育，以防新一代已接觸片面的資訊。 記者：陳尚欣 鄺梓晴 梁嘉欣 凌穎兒 曾橈楓 葉影彥
