Seminar on Hong Kong’s Disaster Rescue System and Crisis Management

The School of Communication held a seminar on Hong Kong’s Disaster Rescue System and Crisis Management at Lee Quo Wei Academic Building on 9 September 2021. Famous Hong Kong experts in the field of disaster and emergency rescue were invited to review the existing system of disaster rescue and explore enhancement measures to upgrade the efficiency and resilience of the existing rescue system to react to the crisis created by natural and non-natural disasters. Attending guests included Dr Peter Poon and Dr Jimmy Chan, experts in Disaster Response and Emergency Medical Services, Mr Ricky Lau, an expert in auxiliary medical service and disaster medicine, Dr Shao-Haei Liu, Vice-President of Hong Kong College of Health Service Executives, Mr Wai Kwong Poon, President of Hong Kong College of Nursing and Health Care Management, Mr Tim Yuen, Director of MedSim Healthcare Education, Dr Samuel Fong, Partner of DxR in Asia Pacific, Ms Jing Jing Lam, President of Hong Kong Cross-Strait Hakka Research Center, and Dr James Chang, Associate Professor (Practice) of School of Communication.
