Students at the School of Communication (SCOM) of HSUHK won the awards for the “Future PR Practitioner” for the first time.
The competition was organized by the Hong Kong Creative PR Competition Organizing Committee, and the Hong Kong Creative Public Relations Association. The award ceremony was recently held at the Hong Kong Productivity Council.
As an annual event in the public relations industry, the “Hong Kong Creative PR Awards” is dedicated to discovering and nurturing outstanding PR talent. The “Future PR Practitioner Award,” established last year, has gained significant attention as it aims to recognize future talents who demonstrate exceptional creativity, innovative thinking, and leadership potential.
This year, under the leadership of Dr. Janice Wong, a lecturer at the School of Communication, six third-year students majoring in Corporate Communication from the School of Communication—Chan Kei-tung, He Yawen, Ko Hau-ching, Lo Yun-Dan, Tsang Sze-wai, and Wong Wing-man—stood out with their outstanding performances and were awarded the “Outstanding Future PR Practitioner Award.” The organization hopes to help future talents enhance their professional skills and expand their networking resources by providing focused training and development platforms, ultimately aiming to cultivate outstanding representatives in the PR field and further enhance the social value and professional status of the PR industry.
Professor Scarlet Tso, Dean of the School of Communication, served as a honorable guest at the event and presented certificates of appreciation to the student organizing committee members, acknowledging the hard work of the student representatives from HSUHK. Professor Tso stated that the standard of entries in this year’s competition was very high, showcasing diverse aspects of creativity in public relations. She emphasized that the competition is crucial for nurturing PR talent, making the event highly meaningful for promoting talent development, close collaboration with the industry, and increasing student engagement.
