Students of the School of Communication (SCOM) of HSUHK received two awards at the China Daily Campus News Awards 2024.
This year, the organizing committee received over 1,000 submissions from 90 colleges and universities on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, and in Hong Kong and Macau, with more than 3,000 participants, reaching a new record high. Two groups of students from the School of Communication received awards, including the 2nd runner up in the “Best News Video Reporting” and the 2nd runner up in the “Best in News Page Design”.
China Daily (Hong Kong Edition) established the “Campus News Awards” in 2012. The competition aims to encourage university students to actively engage in campus news reporting, hone their skills in news writing and multimedia production. Since its inception, the event has been held annually and is now in its twelfth year.
The competition was judged by over a hundred senior media professionals, university journalism professors, and industry experts. The organizing committee stated that the entries addressed current hot topics, provided in-depth and comprehensive coverage, and demonstrated a level of professionalism that left a deep impression on the judges.
It is inspiring to see students from the School of Communication stand out among the thousands of submissions.
