The School of Communication (SCOM) held a welcoming New Student Orientation on 9 Sep 2025, for new students in the Master of Arts in Strategic Communication (MA-SC) programme and Master of Arts in Digital Media for Online Communication (MA-DMOC) programme. The event aimed to help students learn about the programmes, meet faculty members, and get to know the resources available to them as they start their academic journey at HSU.
Professor Scarlet Tso, Dean of the School of Communication, warmly welcomed all the new students in her opening speech.
Professor Ronald CHIU, Associate Dean of the School of Communication, warmly introduced the SCOM faculty to the students.
Dr. Howard Song, MA-SC Programme Director and Professor Trevor SIU, MA-DMOC Programme Director shared important details about the programme curriculum, academic regulations and graduation requirements to help students plan their studies effectively.
Ms Glacial Cheng shared the information of Insurance issues to the students.
Ms Janice Wong promoted Cantonese class to the non-local students
SCOM faculty and students enjoyed lunch together, allowing everyone to connect in a relaxed setting. The entire orientation concluded with laughter and joy, marking a wonderful beginning to the new students’ academic adventures.
