The School of Communication (SCOM) held a welcoming New Student Orientation on 16 Sep 2024, for new students in the Master of Arts in Strategic Communication (MA-SC) programme. The event aimed to help students learn about the programme, meet faculty members, and get to know the resources available to them as they start their academic journey at HSU.
Professor Scarlet Tso, Dean of the School of Communication, warmly welcomed all the new students in her opening speech.
Dr. Howard Song, MA-SC Programme Director, introduced the SCOM faculty and shared important details about the programme curriculum, academic regulations and graduation requirements to help students plan their studies effectively.
To help new students integrate into college life, the school invited two senior students to share their experiences and practical tips, creating a supportive environment for the newcomers.
SCOM faculty and students enjoyed lunch together, allowing everyone to connect in a relaxed setting. The entire orientation concluded with laughter and joy, marking a wonderful beginning to the new students’ academic adventures.
