The Strategic Communication Forum organised by the School of Communication was held on 5 January 2019. Three part-time teachers of the MA-SC programme were invited to be the guests of honour of the Forum, namely Mr Tsui Yuen, CEO of Toast Communications Limited, Mr Richard Tsang, Chairman of The Strategic Public Relations Group (SPRG), and Mr Law Wing Chung, Managing Partner of Jervois One.
The guests of honour each took examples of public relations mishaps from big corporations, listed companies, and the government respectively to demonstrate how to handle crises strategically to avoid aggravating undesirable situations further.
During the Q&A and chit-chat session, Professor Paul Lee, Programme Director of the MA-SC programme and the moderator of the Forum, further examined the afore mentioned public relations mishaps with the guests and explored possible ways to manage the said issues with a more tactful approach.
As crisis management is an integral part of strategic communication, participants of the Forum got a more thorough understanding of crisis management and what is to be expected of the MA-SC programme.
