The School of Communication (SCOM) has organised a workshop titled “The Trend of CG Technology” on 27 October 2022. Mr Peter Pang, Chief Technical Officer of Active Animation Limited, was invited to share on the trend of CG Production and the theory of 3D Naked eyes.
Mr Pang was graduated from the School of Design of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He possesses over 15 years of experience in CG production and digital operation management. Currently, he leads the R&D and production technical teams to deliver animation projects including AR, VR, XR, MR and 3D Naked Eyes.
At the workshop, Mr Pang has introduced various CG creations in recent years. He also shared the 3D Naked Eyes technical concept and the production process, as well as its application in the market. Mr Pang has also shared his views on the trend of CG, and showed a lot of creative and innovative CG productions. Participating students were all immersed into the sharing, and have raised many questions on the technical side during the Q&A session.
When asked about the entry requirements, Mr Pang expressed that apart from the need to grasp the technical knowledge, it’s more important to nurture one’s creativity and the story telling capability, because the concept behind one’s work carries more weight.
