On 19 November 2024, Professor Scarlet Tso, Dean of the School of Communication (SCOM) at Hong Kong Heng Seng University, met with a delegation from the School of Humanities and Communication/School of Internet Communication/School of Publishing at Guangdong University of Finance and Economics. Both parties engaged in extensive discussions regarding collaborative exchange projects.
Dean Tso welcomed the visiting delegation to SCOM and expressed her delight with the ongoing strengthening of collaboration under the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two institutions. Liu Zuhua, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Guangdong University of Finance and Economics, and Dean Ma Chijie provided detailed introductions to the recent developments at their colleges. The two sides also explored future exchange and cooperation projects and engaged in lively discussions with the students.
Attending the exchange meeting from the School of Communication were Professor Ronald Chiu (Associate Dean), Dr. James Chang (Associate Dean), Dr. Wu Jing (Director of the Arts and Culture Communication Programme), Professor Trevor Siu (Director of the Convergent Media and Communication Technology Programme), Dr. Howard Song (Director of the MA in Strategic Communication), Dr. Chan Chi Kit (Director of the Journalism and Communication Programme), and Ms. Carmen Ko (Senior School Manager), among others. They also accompanied the delegation on a tour of the School’s facilities.
The visiting delegation from Guangdong University of Finance and Economics was led by Deputy Secretary Liu Zuhua, and included Dean Ma Chijie, Deputy Secretary of the School Party Committee Zhang Chuanyu, Head of the Chinese Department Professor Xu Feng, Director of the International Exchange and Research Office Yu Laihui, Office Director Chen Danni, and more than ten undergraduate and graduate students.
