24 young leaders from the “E-League Programme” organized by the East District Civil Office visited the School of Communication of HSU on 13 July. Professor Ronald CHIU, Associate Dean of the School of Communication, in his welcoming remarks, stated the importance of communication skills and the uniqueness of the School of Communication. Afterwards, Ms. Glacial Cheng, senior lecturer of the school, introduced the development stages, modules content, employment prospects, and student exchange programs. This information gave the young visitors a preliminary understanding of the school.
The visitors then toured the school’s radio broadcasting recording studio, editing room, multimedia training center. They were very curious about broadcasting equipment and impersonated themselves as broadcasters. They then moved to the school’s film and television production center, where senior lecturer Ms. Doris LAW gave them a condensed version of the film and television production course. The visitors took turns to play the role of anchors, photographers, and directors. After this tour, the visitors felt that they had a better understanding of news production and recognized the importance of teamwork. They expressed that they would watch more news programs in the future, and they would pay more attention to small details in the production.
